ANY offer to host an asylum-seeker processing centre in the Solomons must be refused by Canberra, which should stop trying to off-load its problems onto fragile Pacific states, a former Solomons Islands deputy prime minister said yesterday.

As revealed in The Weekend Australian, the Solomon Islands government has approached the Gillard government offering to host an asylum-seeker centre after a similar pitch to East Timor collapsed.
